Ciaran McIntyre

Director

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

After leaving school in 1981 with 9 ‘O’ Levels Ciaran attained the Association of Taxation Technicians qualification (ATT) in 1992, the Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate in Financial Planning (Cert PFS) in 1995 and then the Chartered Insurance Institute Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS) in 2008. In 2012 he became an Associate of The Institute of Taxation having successfully completed the Chartered Tax Adviser qualifications (CTA).

On leaving full-time education, Ciaran worked for HM Revenue & Customs for seven years, the first six based in Belfast and a final year in Woodford, Essex. He then left to develop his Tax Knowledge by working as a Tax Manager for several London based firms of Chartered Accountants. Having attained qualifications in Financial Planning, Ciaran combined his role as a Tax Manager with that as an Independent Financial Adviser, advising on pensions, life assurance and investments.

Ciaran joined Barcant Beardon in September 2001 initially in a mixed role of Tax and Financial Adviser. On our incorporation in November 2013, Ciaran became a director and is now fully focused on managing our Tax Department.

PERSONAL

Having now spent more than half his life in London, Ciaran considers himself as much a Londoner as Irish. He is a proud father of two (now adult) children, with whom he likes to spend as much time as possible. Outside of work he enjoys weekends away in Europe or back to Ireland to visit family and friends. As an avid chef, he also enjoys cooking many different cuisines.

He also has a keen interest in music, and having played football in his younger days retains an interest in his boyhood supported club, Liverpool.
