Mukesh Khatri Director

Experience and Qualifications

After reading Economics at university, Mukesh served his Articles with a small North London firm of Chartered Accountants where he gained experience in all matters accounting and tax.  Whilst there, he particularly enjoyed the direct interaction with the partners and clients.

As a newly qualified Chartered Accountant, Mukesh’s ambition was to join a large firm and so he went to work for the largest accountancy firm at the time; KPMG. During his time there he gained further knowledge of auditing and, having also had a spell in their tax department, valuable knowledge in tax matters and working with HMRC.

Thereafter, Mukesh went on to work in industry, notably as Head of Corporate in the commercial division of the BBC.

Having experienced both small and large accountancy practices, as well as having gained further perspective from working in industry, Mukesh decided to go back to his small firm roots where he had thrived on the close interaction between clients and colleagues.

Mukesh joined Barcant Beardon in late 1990 as Audit Manager and was made up to Partner in 1992.  Mukesh takes great professional and personal satisfaction in making a direct impact on the businesses and lives of his clients.  Over the years he has assisted Corporate and Not-for-Profit sector clients with merges, acquisitions and pre and post sales taxation planning as well as the day to day accounting and tax matters. He now heads the firm’s audit assurance and business consultancy division and in recent years has also acquired the Institute of Chartered Accountants Diploma in Charity Accounting.

Outside of work Mukesh’s main passion is his beloved Arsenal and you always know when they’ve won as he comes into the office with a big bag of croissants the next morning!

Mukesh’s other major preoccupation is in endeavouring to keep fit, and to this end he has recently given up his gym membership in the hope that he will use his newly acquired cross trainer more than he had the gym.  He still dreams of running the London Marathon one day.

Mukesh lives in North London with his wife and daughter, and is pleased to be able to say that his son has now flown the nest.  Mukesh and his wife enjoy socialising, cinema and holidays, work permitting!
